VALERIE WESTON

With over 27 years teaching experience, Fiona is no stranger to expatriate life having been born in Japan and having spent most of her primary education at international schools in Japan, Germany and Singapore before going to boarding school in the UK at the age of 11. Having lived overseas as an adult in Malaysia, Zimbabwe, Trinidad, Venezuela, Sharjah, Dubai and Singapore, she has become expert at successfully moving her own three children between different British and international schools and selecting suitable UK boarding schools for them.  She founded Ellipsis Learning in 2011.

Passionate about History, Fiona has recently researched and published two historical books, with the support of the National Heritage Board of Singapore. 

Valerie has more than 30 years teaching experience.  Born and brought up in the UK, she lived there until 2007 when she moved to Singapore with her family. 

Her two children have been educated both in the UK and in various international schools in Singapore.   

She founded Minerva Tuition in 2011.

Valerie is a keen amateur violinist and plays regularly in a string quartet in Singapore.

Didicimus Education Expertise

As our Primary specialist, Fiona oversees all pre 11+ tuition and co-ordinates exam preparation for both 11+ and 13+.

In addition she tutors 11+ and 13+ English, Maths and Reasoning.   She specializes in exam preparation packages.

Fiona also runs the schools advice branch of Didicimus and regularly visits UK schools, allowing her to remain up to date with what is on offer and so provide clients with the best advice for their children.  She has visited/prepared children for exams for and dealt with over 80 schools over the last few years (see further information in our School Advice section for a list of these schools).

Didicimus Education Expertise

As our Secondary specialist, Valerie co-ordinates all GCSE and A level/IB work.

In addition, Valerie provides tuition in Latin and Ancient Greek for Common Entrance 13+ (including Scholarship level) and GCSE/A Level.

Valerie also provides tuition in English Language and English Literature at (I)GCSE/A Level as well as English at Common Entrance 13+ (including Scholarship level).

Valerie has prepared students for 13+ Scholarship exams for entry into schools such as Eton College, Winchester College and Sevenoaks School.
